Employee number 12 at Boomin built the team to over 200 employees. Led interviews and assessed candidates to build a 50 person engineering team. - Aided in the recruitment and assessment of candidates.
Developed key architectural designs and standards. Created a frontend guild to maintain those standards, improve testing and decide on new packages and technologies. Developed systems in multiple areas of the business including a React Native app, a CRM, search engine all using a distributed system approach and monorepo.

Worked on data driven applications to manage stock for Morrisons and Starbucks. Communicated with stakeholders to elicit requirements and guide development.
Provided UI/UX consultation to existing projects to improve conversions, styling and overall quality of clients portfolio of sites. Managed junior developers to improve their development skills and guide them during sprints.

About me
I’m Karim Hmaissi an independent front-end web developer living just outside Birmingham UK. I have years of experience building websites, working with clients, backend developers, designers and UK leading businesses.
Using HTML5, CSS3 and Typescript/Javascript I can bring a website to life. Websites I build are responsive, easy to use, performant, beautiful and accessible by you, your customers and search engines.
While I am not a designer I do have a keen eye for design and a strong understanding of UX and UI principles. I pride myself on developing a front end experience that respects and enhances a designer’s original vision.
With a computer science degree and years of programming experience I have a strong understanding of the technical aspects of web development. This includes the backend and various web frameworks and technologies such as Node, NextJS, ReactJs, and many others.
I am used to working in a busy fast moving agency environment. I am also comfortable working from my home web studio or in your office with your team. Whether it is bringing me in for a brand new project or bringing a project back from a fast approaching deadline I can hit the ground running.
